v2.15.10 — A live studio built for phones

The live studio has been rebuilt mobile-first: the studio, channel, manager, sessions and stream settings all work properly on a phone, with portrait or landscape streams. On desktop, the manage page gains a two-column layout with pinned chat, and profiles get Podcasts and Live tabs.

WebMobileAPI

Going live from your phone should feel as natural as posting a poem. This release rebuilds the live experience around that.

A mobile-first live studio

  • Every screen — the studio, channel, manager, sessions and stream settings are redesigned for phones, on the web and in the app.
  • Portrait or landscape — set your stream's orientation.
  • Slow mode — slow the chat down when it gets busy.
  • Live effects — reactions and effects layered over the stream.

Managing a performance on desktop

  • Two columns — your controls scroll on the left while the chat stays pinned on the right.
  • Picture-in-picture — the video follows you when you scroll away from it.
  • Your tab order — rearrange the manager's tabs, and your order is remembered.
  • Session tab — on mobile web, edit your title and description and toggle Be Right Back from the first tab.

Recording and past sessions

  • Recording toggle — choose whether a session is recorded.
  • Custom player — new player controls for recordings.
  • Past sessions — play back properly again.

Profiles and the Live hub

  • New profile tabs — profiles now have Podcasts and Live tabs.
  • Live hub — an overhauled Live hub with a creator panel and clearer sub-pages, including upcoming performances from people you follow.

Fixes

Ended sessions still looked live.

  • Before — a LIVE badge and pulse could show on sessions that had ended.
  • After — every session shows its real status.

Streaming software stayed connected after ending.

  • Before — ending a performance in Stanza could leave your streaming software connected.
  • After — it disconnects.

The channel view didn't update live in the app.

  • Before — activity on the channel page needed a refresh.
  • After — it updates as it happens.

Reliability, security & accessibility

  • Browser disconnects — a clear message when a browser-based stream disconnects.
  • Security — patched dependency advisories.
  • Translations — every new live screen is translated.
