v2.0.0 — Badges, Sign in with Apple & scheduled poems
Version 2.0 brings badges that celebrate what you do on Stanza, Sign in with Apple on every platform, and scheduled poems. It also adds email from Stanza, including a welcome note, follow emails and a weekly digest, along with smoother confections and fixes for sign-in and notifications.
WebMobileAPIModeration
Stanza's first big update: recognition, easier sign-in, and poems that publish when you want them to.
Badges
Badges celebrate milestones and contributions. They show on your profile and beside your name.
- Medal wall — your badges appear on your profile.
- On feed cards — up to two badges appear next to your name (never on anonymous poems).
- Earned moments — a small card tells you when you've earned a new badge.
- Your choice — hide any badge you'd rather not show in Settings › Badges.
- Early adopter — profiles created in Stanza's first months are recognised automatically. Some badges are awarded by staff.
Sign in with Apple
- Every platform — Sign in with Apple now works on the web, iOS, Android and desktop.
- Clearer buttons — Google and Apple sign-in buttons follow each brand's guidelines, in light and dark mode.
Schedule a poem
Pick a date and time, and your poem publishes on its own.
- Set it in compose — on the web and in the app.
- Keep track — the poems on your profile are split into tabs, so scheduled work is easy to find.
Email from Stanza
- Welcome — a welcome email when you join.
- Follows — an email when someone follows you.
- Weekly digest — a Monday round-up of what you missed.
- Account safety — an email when a moderation decision or an appeal affects your account.
- Unsubscribe — a one-click unsubscribe page for marketing email.
Confections
- Clearer sending — a confection sent on its own needs a message. Send stays disabled until everything is valid, and errors are shown instead of failing silently.
- New default — anyone can now send you a confection by default. You can change who may send them in your settings.
Fixes
Notifications could lead nowhere.
- Before — tapping a follow notification could open a “not found” page, and some poem notifications had broken links.
- After — notifications open the right poem or profile.
Follow requests disappeared after you answered them.
- Before — accepting or declining a request removed the notification entirely.
- After — it stays, marked Accepted or Declined.
Swiping back closed the app on Android.
- Before — a back swipe on some main screens closed Stanza.
- After — it goes back, as expected.
Reliability, security & accessibility
- Image cropping — aspect-ratio presets, and the crop toolbar no longer hides behind the Android status bar.
- Desktop audio — fixed a crash when playing audio on Windows.
- Get the app — a new Apps page, with a waitlist for the Android beta.
- Readable menus — the poem options menu is legible in light mode.
- Security — patched dependency advisories.
