Settings Overview

Finding settings

Open Settings from the Library (Account section), the More menu or the sidebar. Or skip the menus: type the name of any setting into Jump to… (Ctrl/Cmd+K on a computer).

Most settings belong to the profile you're using, so each persona can be set up differently. A few, such as your sign-in and age, belong to your account.

The settings areas

Profile

Your display name, bio, website, avatar and cover, plus links to your other places on the web.

Privacy

• Require follow approval and Discoverable.
• Allow critiques, Let others add my work to lists, and Let readers translate my work.
• Show replies on my profile.
• Who sees what you do: who can see that a reaction, reply, curation or follow was yours. There's also a What others see preview. See "Who Sees What You Do".
• Show reading activity.
• Blocked Users and Muted Words.
• Personalized ads and the Stanza Pro option to go ad-free.
• Your Privacy Choices, including marketing email.
• In the app, your default visibility for new poems.

Notifications

Push and in-app switches for each kind of notification, profile filters, announcements, and the email digest. See "Notifications".

Badges

Choose which badges show on your profile. See "Badges".

Appearance

Light, dark or system theme, your profile's theme colour, and Your Fonts.

Stage

Content type, auto-play audio, mature content, interests, mood and content preferences. See "Stage Settings".

Search

Information cards, defaults, mature results and recent-search history. See "Search Preferences and Jump To".

Account

Your email and linked sign-ins, two-factor authentication and backup codes, your birth year and age-change requests, Content Defaults (default visibility for new poems and lists), Claims & Strikes, data export, and options to deactivate or delete your account.

Language

The language Stanza is shown in. It also sets which language you're offered translations into.

Accessibility

Text size, contrast and motion.

Subscription

Your plan, billing and upgrade options.

Analytics

How your work is doing: reactions, views and follower growth, with deeper reach and audience insights on Pro.

Writing Space

Auto-save, streak reminders and default paper. These are stored on the device you're using.

Organization settings

When you're acting as an organization, Settings shows the organization's own areas instead, such as Org Profile, Subscription and Analytics.
