Multiple Profiles (Personas)

Up to three personas

One Stanza account can hold up to 3 personal profiles. Each is a complete, separate identity that readers see on its own:

• Its own @username, display name, bio, avatar and cover.
• Its own followers and following.
• Its own poems, drafts and lists.
• Its own circles, saves and badges.
• Its own Encore budget: each profile gets its own monthly allowance.
• Its own settings for things such as privacy, Stage, search and notifications.

Why have more than one?

A poet who writes confessional work might keep a separate name for experimental pieces. A teacher might keep a classroom profile apart from a personal one. A performer might separate spoken word from the page. Personas let you keep audiences apart without juggling several accounts and passwords.

Creating another profile

1. Open the More menu (or the sidebar on a computer) and choose Switch profile.
2. Choose Add or manage profiles.
3. Create a new profile with its own username, display name and bio.

Switching profiles

Open Switch profile in the More menu and pick a profile. As the menu says, each profile is a separate persona: switching changes who reacts, writes and receives alerts. Whatever you do next (publishing, cheering, following, saving) happens as that profile.

Your current profile is shown at the top of the More menu and the sidebar, so you always know who you're acting as.

What's shared across your account

Some things belong to you as a person, not to a profile:

• Your sign-in, password and two-factor authentication.
• Your birth year and month, and any protections that come with your age.
• Your subscription. A plan is per account, so Pro covers your personal profiles.
• Your marketing email choice, which applies to every profile at once.

Keeping personas apart

Each profile shows its own name, followers and work. Your writing style, the poets you follow and what you post can still hint at a connection, so choose what each persona shares with care.

Organization profiles

If you're on an organization's staff, you can also act as that organization. It appears in the profile switcher alongside your own profiles, and switching to it changes the Library and tools to the organization's.
