Following
Follow someone to see their work in your Following feed tab. Following is one-way — they do not have to follow you back.
Friends
When two people follow each other, they become friends. Being friends unlocks FRIENDS-only content — submissions the author has restricted to mutual connections.
Follow Approval
Some profiles require follow approval. When you follow them, your request is pending until they accept. Look for the "Follows you" badge on profiles that follow you back.
Blocking
Block someone to prevent all interaction. They will not be able to see your content, follow you, or interact with your work.
