Badges

Badges mark milestones, achievements and roles on Stanza. They appear on your profile, where readers can see what you've done and the part you play in the community.

Kinds of badges

Achievements

Earned automatically as you write, read and take part. A few examples:

• First Poem: published your first poem. Prolific Poet (50+) and Century Club (100) follow.
• First Cheer and Standing Ovation: your first cheer and your first Encore received. Crowd Favorite and Encore Magnet come with more.
• Streak Keeper: poems posted 7 days in a row. NaPoWriMo: 30 poems in 30 days.
• Formalist: poems in five different forms.
• Spoken Word: published a poem with an audio recording.
• Soundtracked and Composer: poems scored with sounds from the library.
• Marginalian and Annotator: margin notes left on others' poems.
• Conversationalist and Pen Pal: replies on others' work, and write-backs on your own.
• Thoughtful Critic and Generous Critic: published critiques.
• Circle Host and Kindred: creating and joining inner circles.
• Beloved (100 followers), Connector (10 mutual friends), Community Pillar and Anniversary (a year on Stanza).
• Fresh Ink, Answered the Call and Called & Chosen: entering open calls, and being selected.
• Live Performer and Podcaster.

Early Adopter for members who joined in Stanza's first six months, and Founding Poet for the founding beta.

Time on Stanza

A growing tree marks how long you have been here: Three Months, Six Months, Anniversary (one year), Two Years, Three Years and Five Years. They are counted from the day you joined, and every profile on your account gets them. Your profile shows only the highest one you have reached.

Supporter

• Supporter: shown while you have Stanza Pro (or an Organizations plan). Thank you for backing Stanza.
• Former supporter: if your plan ends, the badge quietly becomes Former supporter, as a thank-you for the time you backed us. Nothing is sent to you or anyone else. If you subscribe again, Supporter comes back.

Roles

Badges such as Critic, Verified Critic, Educator, Press, Partner, Moderator and Verified Organization show a recognised role on Stanza.

Special

Awarded by the Stanza team, for example Staff Pick, Featured Voice, Monthly Pick, Contest Winner, Anthology Featured and the rare Poet Laureate.

Earning a badge

Most achievement badges are awarded automatically once you qualify. Some are checked overnight, so allow up to a day for one to appear. When you earn a badge, you'll see "You earned a badge!" and get a notification (in the Milestones group of your notification settings).

Showing or hiding badges

Go to Settings › Badges (Your Medals). Each badge you've earned is listed with its description and the date you earned it. Use its switch to show or hide it on your public profile.

• Hidden badges are invisible to other viewers but still appear on your own profile page.
• You can change this whenever you like.
• Supporter badge: to keep it to yourself, turn off "Show my supporter badge" in Settings, Privacy. It then stays off your profile and bylines for everyone else; you still see it in your own settings.

Badges and profiles

Badges belong to the profile that earned them. If you have more than one profile, each earns and shows its own.
