Where to find them
Open Settings › Stage, or type "Stage settings" into Jump to…. Stage settings belong to the profile you're using and follow it to every device.
Stage settings
Content type
Choose All, Written only or Spoken only. Handy when you're on a quiet train and only want to read, or out walking and only want to listen.
Auto-play audio
When it's on, spoken word pieces start playing as they come into view. Leave it off if you'd rather tap play yourself. Muting and volume carry across the Stage, so muting one poem keeps the next one quiet too.
Mature content
Choose whether poems marked as mature appear in your feed. Members under 18 never see mature work, whatever this setting says.
Personalisation
Interests
Tell Stanza which forms, styles and themes you enjoy. Your interests give For You a head start, especially when you're new and the feed hasn't learned much about you yet.
Current mood
Set a mood, and For You leans towards poems that fit it for the next 24 hours. After that, it quietly returns to normal. You don't need to remember to reset it.
Content preferences
Choose which content warning themes you'd rather not see in your feed, such as grief, trauma, violence, strong language, substance use or sexual themes. Poems carrying those warnings are filtered out of your feed. If you open one directly, you'll see a warning card before it loads.
Other ways to shape what you see
- Hide from feed: in any poem's ⋯ menu.
- Mute: from a poet's profile. Their poems disappear from your feed, and they aren't told.
- Muted words: add words and phrases under Settings › Privacy › Muted Words.
- Block: from a poet's profile, to stop all contact both ways.
Search has its own settings
What search shows (definition cards, sound cards, mature results, recent searches) lives under Settings › Search. See "Search Preferences and Jump To".
