You don't have to publish the moment you finish. Schedule a poem and Stanza publishes it for you at the time you choose: dawn for a morning poem, midnight on an anniversary, or the first day of a writing challenge.
How to schedule
- Write your poem in the composer as usual.
- Open the Settings tab and find Schedule publication.
- Pick a date and time.
- Confirm. You'll see a note saying when it's scheduled for.
Journal entries from the Writing Space can be scheduled too: choose Schedule for later in the publish steps.
What happens at publish time
When the time arrives, the poem publishes automatically. It appears on your profile and in your followers' feeds and, if it's public, in discovery and search, just like a poem you publish by hand.
Your settings come with it
- Privacy: a public poem becomes public; a followers-only or private poem keeps that audience.
- Permissions: comments, reactions, margin notes, lists and translation are applied as you set them.
- Anonymity: an anonymous scheduled poem stays anonymous. Your name isn't attached when it goes live.
The settling window starts at go-live
The short settling period (currently 30 minutes) begins when the poem actually publishes, not when you scheduled it. You still get your window to fix a typo once it's live, and margin notes and critiques open after that.
Ideas for scheduling
- Daily challenges: write a week of poems on Sunday and release one each morning.
- Time zones: reach readers when they're awake, wherever they are.
- Occasions: have a poem appear on the exact day it's about.
Scheduled poems respect your privacy setting. A public poem becomes publicly visible; a followers-only or private poem keeps that audience.
