Sharing Lists

Two ways to share

You can share a list with specific people, with chosen permissions, or make it public so anyone can find it. You can do both.

Share with specific people

1. Open your list and choose Share.
2. Search for people by name or username.
3. Choose what they can do:

• View: read the list and open what's in it, even if the list is otherwise private.
• Add: add new items to the list.
• Edit: reorder and remove items.

1. Confirm. Lists shared with you appear under My Lists.

You can change someone's permissions or remove them at any time from the same Share screen.

Collaborating

Giving someone Add or Edit turns a list into a shared project: a workshop syllabus several people build together, a circle's reading for the month, or a joint anthology of favourites. Only you, the owner, can change the list's title, privacy or cover, or delete it.

Public lists

Set a list's privacy to Public and it can appear on the Discover tab in Lists, where anyone can browse it. Other people can Follow it to keep up with what you add.

Followers-only and Friends lists are visible to those audiences only, and private lists only to you and the people you've shared them with.

What readers see

• Readers only ever see items they're allowed to open. A friends-only poem in a public list appears as unavailable to strangers.
• An anonymous poem in a list keeps its poet's name hidden.
• A list inside your list appears by name and item count only. Readers open it to see what's inside.

Reactions on lists

Readers who can see your list can Cheer it (a cheer for the curation: the choosing and the order) or throw a Tomato. Lists don't take Encores. You're notified when someone reacts, and only you, the curator, can ever see who threw a Tomato (that list is part of Stanza Pro). See "Reacting to Lists, Episodes and Poets".

Lists inside other people's lists

Other people can add your public list to their own lists, unless you turn that off in the list's settings ("Let other poets add this list to their lists"). A private list is never offered.
