Most of Stanza is people sharing work they care about. When something goes wrong, you have three tools: report it to our moderation team, block someone, or mute them.
Reporting
What you can report
You can report a poem, a reply, a profile or a comment. Open its options menu and choose Report. For a poem that copies someone else's work, there is also Report Plagiarism.
How to report
- Choose Report from the options menu.
- Pick the Reason that fits best — for example spam, harassment, hate speech, or something else.
- Add Details describing the problem (at least 10 characters). Specific details help us act faster.
- Choose Submit Report.
What happens next
- You get a confirmation: "Thanks for helping keep the community safe. We will review your report."
- A moderator reviews it. When the report is closed, you are notified of the outcome, sometimes with a note from the moderator.
- You can only have one open report about the same item at a time.
Reports about children's safety
If you see anything that sexually exploits a child, report it using the child-safety reason where it is offered. These reports skip the queue: they are handled immediately as a priority by our safety team and referred to law enforcement where the law requires. For the protection of everyone involved, you will not receive an outcome notification for these reports.
If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
Copyright
If someone has copied your work, a report is not the right tool — file a copyright notice instead. See Copyright Notices and Takedowns.
Blocking
Blocking is for when you want someone out of your space entirely. When you block someone:
- they cannot follow you or see your poems;
- you will not see their content in your feed;
- neither of you can react to or save the other's work.
Choose Block from their profile's menu and confirm. To undo it, choose Unblock — they will be able to follow you and see your content again.
Manage everyone you have blocked under Settings › Privacy › Blocked Users.
Muting
Muting is quieter. When you mute someone, their poems stop appearing in your feed, but nothing else changes — and they won't know they've been muted. It is useful when someone is not doing anything wrong, but you would rather not see their work for a while.
You can also hide particular words and phrases from your feed with Muted Words.
Strikes
When our moderators find that someone has broken the community rules, the account can receive a strike. Strikes have escalating consequences and expire after about twelve months. You can see any strikes on your account, and appeal one, under Settings › Claims & Strikes — choose Appeal Strike and explain why.
Blocking and muting work immediately and need no review. If you just want distance, you do not have to wait for a report to be resolved.
